It beggars belief that the Guardia are doing this without warning---I know we had a new Spanish Govt this week---part of the new austerity measures!!?? When did we last get snow on the Granada Autovia??? Answers on a postcard please!!!!
I guess Al Campo will be coining it now and what happens if stock run out---are they stopping the Autobuses???

I was told over the weekend that new signs showing possible snow on the road have been put up along the Granada autovia, on Friday afternoon the Guardia were stopping all motorists on the Granada roundabout before Salobreña who were turning off up to Granada and asking them if they had snow chains in their cars. For those who did not they were immediately given a €150 fine and were told they were legally obliged to have them in their car if they were going to be using this stretch of road from the coast up to Granada.
Forget the Sierras you now need the chains just to be able to drive to Granada to shop!!! Be aware another way to coin in some money from the unsuspecting motorist!!
Alcampo are now selling snow chains for approx.€19 a pack, guess I know what I will be buying on Monday morning!
