We have another fantastic day trip opportunity coming up!
Alcalá La Real is a beautiful town in nearby Jaén province. Overlooked by a Moorish castle, La Mota, which was reclaimed by the Christians in the fourteenth century and boasts wonderful panoramic views to the surrounding countryside.
Leaving Salobreña at 9:00am (optional pick up at Alcampo, Motril), arriving in Alcalá La Real at 11:00am. There’s opportunity for coffee on arrival before a guided tour in English of the Casco Histórico filled with remarkable buildings spanning centuries of history.
At 1:30pm we break for lunch (with wine and water included).
3:30pm we continue with a visit to the Palacete de la Hilandera, a step back in time to a restored palace with it’s 19th Century decoration and photographic studio.
Next, at 4:00pm we visit La Fortaleza de la Mota and enjoy an English speaking guided tour of this amazing medieval fortress and see how people lived in this last Andalucian fortified castle.
If all this wasn’t enough, There’s a visit to an artisanal brewery, to see at first hand the production process and even better to sample the beer with Tapas included!
