Christmas is almost with us and typically we’re asked, “what do you want this year?”. All too often we just don’t know! Well this year could be different! Here’s a suggestion…
If you have ever fancied learning a musical instrument but thought you couldn’t do it… If you’ve tried to learn an instrument in the past and been discouraged with a lack of progress…Maybe you’ve been put off by the cost! If any of this sounds familiar, then maybe it’s time to think again!
Pretty much anyone who has tried agrees that ukulele is a fun and easy instrument to learn and you don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a reasonable instrument to see you well into your musical journey.
You don’t need to be able to read music either.
We are excited to set up a brand-new way to get together with friends and have fun – The International Club of Salobreña Ukulele Group!
Kicking off in the new year we hope to meet fortnightly at Hotel Salobreña Suites at 6:30pm until 9:30pm on Mondays.
It will mainly be a group to get together and play our ukuleles. There’s lots of resources online to learn the basic skills and the first hour of the meetings will focus on developing skills for anyone learning the instrument for the first time. The last two hours will be jamming and having fun for all skill levels.
We will have a few ukuleles available for anyone who wants to come along and see if this great little instrument is for them.
The meeting will be free (A beverage from the bar might be a good idea though!). We are already working on an ICSUG Facebook page, Member’s Group and website. We are getting together information and resources to help anyone interested to get started. For a start we have created a simple guide on buying your first ukulele – if you would like a copy by email – just let us know.
It would be great to find out what interest there is so if you can rise to the challenge of a fun night out with a difference…
