Gibraltar makes a return to our schedules with a day trip from Salobreña departing at around 8am with a pick up at Almuñecar, a short comfort break at services near Malaga and then arriving at Gibraltar around 11am. As usual, we will be parking at Morrisons Car Park and you will have opportunity to do a Supermarket Sweep for any goodies you think you might need.

A word about shopping in Gibraltar

It appears that the regulations around personal shopping being brought back into Spain are now a little more complex than we have experienced in the past. The big change is being unable to bring any quantity of meat and milk and their products (other than powdered infant milk, infant food and special foods required for medical reasons or petfood required for animal health-related reasons). There are limits on other purchases including the ones mentioned here as exceptions.

The above is a precis but if you would like to examine the guidelines more closely click the following link:

What follows will be up to you… whether it is to hit the high street and visit some of the fantastic shops , especially old chums like Marks and Spencers!

Then of course there’s the good old British Pubs! Many with favourite British Real Ales rarely seen in our part of the world!

Or, maybe visit some of the great attractions available including the cable car and of course Gibraltar Barbary Macaques, probably the very most popular attraction! The best place to see them is in the Upper Rock Nature Reserve in the Upper Rock area of the island. Here, you’ll find the famous Apes’ Den, a great place to visit for you to get up close with these fascinating creatures without fear of being harassed. But visitors beware: as cute as these apes are, they’re wild and do bite. Also, from time-to-time they venture into the town, so watch your belongings. Feeding is strictly prohibited.

At the most southerly point of Gibraltar’s peninsula is Europa Point. It’s well worth a visit for the historic 19th-century Trinity Lighthouse, the old chapel of Nuestra Señora de Europa (the Shrine of our Lady of Europe), and the impressive Mosque of The Custodian of the Holy Mosques.

The trip will cost €23 each for ICS members if we have 29 members on the trip (smaller coach) or just €18 each if we manage to get 55 members (larger coach). It is available to non ICS members as above plus a €5 premium.

We propose charging €23 in the first instance and if we get sufficient numbers we can make a refund of €5 per seat.

Booking is open now using our online form below. Of course we will be using our secure online payments system to make it as easy as possible to pay.

Please remember that payment is required before your reservation is finalised and booking and payment closes on Wednesday 26 October. Refunds will not be possible after that date.
