Costa Cruises 8 Days Mediterranean Cruise – Spain, Italy and France – Valencia & Return – 6 October 2025 From 539 GBP per person (based on two sharing)
We could not be more excited to share details of our proposed “overnighter” trip for 2025!
You will probably already be aware that every year we try to make one excursion that requires overnight accommodation (often of a couple of days). Well this year we are literally PUSHING THE BOAT OUT!
After some considerable research we are able to offer you a seven night, eight day cruise of the Mediterranean that sets sail from Valencia and calls at ports in Spain, Italy and France.
We have tried to get the very best price possible, of course, it is more than twice as long as our usual overnight trips!
We will be getting on board the Costa Pacifica cruise ship on Monday 6 October 2025. Places will be strictly limited to a maximum of 55 as we will be taking care of the transfers to and from the cruise ship in Valencia by our own private coach which will pick up and drop off at Almuñecar, Salobreña and Velez de Benaudalla, to make the trip as easy and stress free as possible.
Our staterooms are primarily for double occupancy. If you are a solo traveller inevitably you have to pay the double occupancy price for the stateroom so we encourage you to find a travel buddy to share with if at all possible!
Please note that costs for the cruise are in GBP Pound Sterling as our agent is based in the UK. Costs for the transfers are in Euros.
For details of excursions available from Costa Cruises you can visit the link below to see their web page for this sailing and the itinerary and excursions available. Please not that excursions are not arranged by ICS on the trip and we recommend booking those available from Costa Cruises for the greatest peace of mind.

A word about our agent, Cruise.co.uk / Seascanner.co.uk
We approached Cruise.co.uk on the recommendation of more than one of our members and close contacts who regularly book cruises.
Cancellation Of The Cruise
7. Passenger’s right of withdrawal from the contract
7.1 In accordance with Art. 41 of the Tourism Code, a Passenger may withdraw from the contract at any time prior to the start of the holiday package; however, where the Passenger terminates the contract, they shall be charged the following standard amounts. The percentages shown refer to the proportions of the price paid by the Passenger, excluding the service charge and taxes.

Transfers to and from the ship in Valencia

To make it as easy as possible we have arranged for our usual Tour Operator, RomeroBus, Motril to take us all together to Valencia to board the ship on embarkation day (day One) and to meet us on our return on Day 8 at 14h. This way we stay together as a group and we can rely on our coach to get us there rather than people turning up by different routes, etc.
We have received a quote from Romerobus for the transfers and that will be booked and paid to the ICS and not the agent handling the cruise bookings on the ship.
But, for the coach transfer to be viable we need the minimum number of bookings met to get the price quoted. If a smaller number of bookings are made then a smaller coach would be required and would incur additional cost as a result. But we are very optimistic that we will meet the minimum required in any case.
The coach will pick up and drop off in Almuñecar, Salobreña and Velez De Benaudalla.
We will have a couple of comfort breaks en route both ways and also a stop at a service station for something to eat and drink.
The cost will be 80 Euros per person, payable on booking and NON-REFUNDABLE
Travel Insurance
Why Travel Insurance is Essential for Retired Cruisers in the Mediterranean
Setting sail on a Mediterranean cruise is an incredible way to enjoy retirement—breathtaking coastal views, rich cultural experiences, and ultimate relaxation. However, unexpected events can happen, and travel insurance is a crucial safeguard to ensure peace of mind while at sea.
Medical Coverage & Emergency Assistance
Many retired travellers may need access to urgent medical care, and healthcare costs can be high, especially outside the EU or in remote ports. Travel insurance ensures access to 24/7 emergency assistance, covering hospital treatments, doctor visits, and even medical evacuation if necessary.
Trip Cancellations & Interruptions
Cruises involve multiple bookings, including flights, excursions, and hotel stays before or after the trip. Unexpected illnesses, bad weather, or family emergencies could force cancellations, leading to costly losses. A good policy reimburses non-refundable expenses if plans change unexpectedly.
Lost Luggage & Personal Belongings
A Mediterranean cruise might include multiple stops, meaning plenty of opportunities for lost luggage or stolen valuables. Insurance covers replacement costs for essentials, from medications to travel documents, ensuring you’re not stranded without the things you need.
Protecting Peace of Mind
For retired travellers, a cruise should be about relaxation, not worries. A reliable travel insurance, without financial stress in case of mishaps.
Before embarking, choosing a comprehensive policy tailored to your needs will allow you to enjoy your Mediterranean adventure worry-free. 🌊🚢
