Well, here we are. The final Weekly Update of 2025. This week marks the last week of activities of the year as we close for Winter Recess on Wednesday.
This week we have a special Christmas Quiz to occupy us on our final Wednesday meeting this season. Read on for details…
Before we get into the details of activities for this week we would like to thank everyone who came along to our fabulous and fun Winter Lunch at Hotel Melia Sierra Nevada on Wednesday. The venue did not let us down again and it was fantastic to have so much snow to play in afterwards!
Now is the time to start thinking about the sort of trips and activities that you would like to see next year. When the new committee convenes after our AGM on 21 January they will be looking to collate the best ideas and get planning the calendar for at least the first six months of the year.
So what about this week? There is still lots to get involved with…
Once again on Monday 5 December The Red Dragon Mah Jong Group will be at Hotel Miba at 11 am to play Mah Jong. If you are interested in finding out about this fascinating and engaging ancient Chinese game you are welcome to come along.
This week on Monday at Hotel Salobreña Suites at 11am our Discussion Group will get back together for another debate of topical and interesting issues.
The topic this week will be ” The new US National Security Strategy – Consequences for Europe”
Also on Monday from 2pm to 4pm you can play Chess at Bar Amigos!
Our Ukulele Strumblies are getting back together again this week at Bar Amigos in Avendia Federico Garcia Lorca at 4pm to practice more of our favourite Christmas tunes!
On Tuesday 16 December we have more for you…
Art at Hotel Salobreña Suites at 11am
Backgammon also at Hotel Salobreña Suites as 11am.
Darts returns to Bar Amigos at 1:30pm.
Of course newcomers are welcome to all of our activities!
Wednesday 15 December – Christmas Quiz and Goodies 11am – 1pm
We get together again one more time at Hotel Salobreña Suites to enjoy a seasonal quiz that looks and sounds like a lot of fun! We will also have some goodies to share with you to mark the close of the year!
Thursday 16 December – Day off!
Friday 17 December we return to Park Fuente in Salobreña to play Petancas at 10:15am. Please make sure that you get there in time to be allocated a team. we start play at 10:30am. Afterwards we encourage our players to visit Cafeteria Los Patos for a drink. They are our fantastic sponsor and provide our monthly trophy and prize for the player with the most points scored in the month.
ICS Committee 2026 – 2028
Plans for our new committee are coming along nicely and we hope to have details to share with you in our New Year pre-AGM email. Again we would remind anyone thinking about coming forward to join the ICS Committee to let us have your formal notice of intent together with a nomination and seconding from existing ICS members.
