Description
On Saturday, 18 April 2026, we will attend the festival commemorating the 534th anniversary of the Capitulaciones de Santa Fe, signed on 17 April 1492 between Christopher Columbus and the Catholic Monarchs. The event features a full day of cultural activities, including parades, music, theatrical performances, artisan markets, and regional cuisine.
Festival Highlights
- Musical concerts, parades, and theatrical performances celebrating the historical significance of the Capitulations (agreements)
- Performances inspired by the early modern period, with historical commentary
- Artisan craft markets and exhibitions
- Educational talks and conferences on the historical context of the agreement
- Film screenings, open-air concerts, and a medieval market recreating a 15th-century atmosphere

- 9:00 Coach leaves Almuñécar Bus Station
- 9:30 Coach leaves Salobreña, Cafe Goya
- 9:50 Coach leaves Vélez de Benaudalla, near the Welcome Fountain
- 11:00 Coach arrives at Santa Fe (free time to enjoy the festival)
- 17:15 Return to bus pick-up area
- 17:35 Depart from Santa Fe
- 18:30 Arrive in Vélez de Benaudalla, near the Welcome Fountain
- 18:55 Arrive in Salobreña, Cafe Goya
- 19:15 Arrive in Almuñécar Bus Station
Costs
Transportation is €12 per-person for ICS members, €17 per-person for non-ICS members. Places are limited, so early booking is recommended.
