Sad News – Sheila Comer
It is with very much sadness we have to share news with you today of the passing of one of our popular, former members.
We have learned that Sheila Comer passed away this morning. Sheila, whom so many of our members will remember fondly from her membership of the International Club over many years and participation in our activities, especially the walks with Robert and Helen which she loved. Sheila had been battling Motor Neurones Disease for some years recently.
When we lose members we are naturally reminded how important the ties we make here are within the ICS, the friendships we build, many of which endure when we can no longer be part of the club itself, through illness or other considerations.
Our sincere condolences reach out to Sheila’s family, especially her daughter, Judy and son, Fergus and of course her grandchildren.
If we have any other updates we will of course share the with you.
For some time now our committee have discussed and agreed that it would be a helpful addition if we could facilitate members who wish to pass on thoughts to other members and especially family and friends of the person we have lost.
With that in mind we have created a tribute page for Sheila that you might like to visit to pass on your own comments.
To honour Sheila’s memory, we have created a tribute page where you are warmly invited to share your thoughts, stories, and photos: Visit Sheila’s Tribute Page
This dedicated page is a place where members can leave messages, light virtual candles, upload pictures, and reflect together on Sheila’s life and the connections she built through the club. Please note that this tribute is not a fundraiser—there is no request for donations, just an open invitation to remember and celebrate Sheila in your own words.
We hope this space brings comfort and connection to everyone who knew her. Our sincere condolences to Sheila’s family, especially her daughter Judy, her son Fergus, and her beloved grandchildren.
Warm regards,
Your ICS Committee
