Welcome and thanks for taking the time to get to know more about our organisation. The purpose of the International Club is to foster friendship among residents of the area (short and long-term), to lend a helping hand to newcomers and to give back something to the community in which we live.

Our members  - almost 150 - represent countries all over the world including Argentina, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands,  Poland, Sweden, Swizerland, the UK, the USA and, not forgetting our host, Spain. Members not only come from Salobreña but as far east as Castell de Ferro, as far west as La Herradura and as far north as Granada, the Lecrin Valley and los Alpujarras.  Some of us live in the area full-time, while others go back and forth to their homeland.

The International Club meets year-round (except July/August and a short break at Christmas) on Wednesdays, the location depending on the activity. Invited talks and social gatherings are held at the Hotel Salobreña starting at 11am, while other activities take us further afield. The first Saturday each month in the PARQUE DE LA FUENTE (Avda. del Mediterráneo) the International Club, in collaboration with las Áreas de Cultura y Medio Ambiente del Ayuntamiento de Salobreña, organises the Eco Mercado el Rastro (craft, antiques and carboot sale).  All proceeds go to charity.  Charities supported include the Salobreña Food Bank and Paws for Thought.  The club has made nesting boxes for the Charca de Suarez in Motril and has erected a gazebo in the childrens playground of the Parque de la Fuente.
