Welcome and thank you for taking the time to get to know a little more about our friendly and informal organisation. The purpose of the International Club of Salobreña is to foster friendship among residents (short and long-term), to lend a helping hand to those new to this culturally-rich area and hopefully, to give back to this wonderful community in which we live.
Our members -- now nearly 100 of us -- represent countries all over the world including the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Poland, USA, Canada, Australia and of course, not forgetting our host country, Spain.
Some of us live in Salobreña (or the surrounding area from Motril to La Herradura and the Lecrin Valley/Alpujarras to the coast) full-time, while other members go back and forth between their home countries and here.
The International Club of Salobreña meets year-round (except July/August and a short break at Christmas) on Wednesdays; the location depends on the activity planned for that week. Our purely social gatherings are at the Hotel Salobreña at 11am, while other activities may take us further afield. To see what’s planned in the weeks ahead, please see our Calendar of Events section. Subscriptions for the calendar year are €10 per person; half that if you join September to December.
We hope you will join us at an upcoming meeting. Everyone is welcome! In the meantime, check out our Photo Gallery as well as how it all began for us in the History of the International Club of Salobreña section. We hope to see you soon.
Arlene
President, 2007/2008
P.S. If you are looking to join the International Club, we are currently on our summer break, but we will be back in action on Wednesday, 17 September 2008 for a Social Meeting at Hotel Salobrena at 11am. Come join us then! In the meantime, enjoy your summer!
